The Sinner Mango+ is a compact velomobile suited to every day use as well as touring. Not only is the Mango+ fast due to its aerodynamic shape, but the fully enclosed drive-chain and drum brakes make the machine as reliable as a Dutch town bike.
The Mango always had a large luggage capacity. The new Mango+ model further increases the capacity behind the seat to over 130 litres, and there is still room either side of the seat for items which you may need on your journey. The increase in capacity is realised without increasing the overall size of the Mango+. A tow hook can also be fitted to pull most bicycle trailers.
The Mango+ is also easy to look after. All three wheels are the same size, so fewer spares need to be carried than with some competitors, and all three are mounted from one side only, making puncture repair and changing of tyres straightforward. The glass-fibre body shell can be wiped clean.
A wide range of gearing options are available, including 8 and 9 speed derailleur gears, double and triple front derailleurs and both 8 speed (Shimano Alfine) and 14 speed (Rohloff) hub gears.
The 8 metre turning circle gives good usability in real world conditions, and the 75 cm width means the Mango+ fits through standard door-ways.
Riding a Mango is a great experience. You can expect a significantly higher speed for the same effort than on an unfaired bicycle, even than most recumbent bicycles. Headwinds and sidewinds affect you far less than usual and you stay warm and dry in winter. The three wheels have independent suspension and the seat is adjustable to ensure comfort.
The Mango+ costs €5490 (incl 19% VAT) picked up at the factory in Groningen. Many Mangos have been delivered outside of the Netherlands and outside of Europe. Your Mango+ can be delivered to any country for the cost of shipping. Customers outside the EU do not have to pay the 19% tax. Quotes on application.
The Mango+ comes ready to drive. This means including rechargeable battery lighting system, bike computer, rear view mirror, pump, spare tire, spare inner tube, puncture repair kit, and of course the foam cover for all weather riding. Optional additonal accessoires include LED-turninglights (€ 165), a second headlight (€ 114), an electric horn (€ 27), fog and brakelight (€ 85)
Standard gearing options are either 8-speed derailleur combined with a triple chainset for 24 gears or an 8 speed Shimano Alfine hub gear. A change to a higher specification 9 speed derailleur system or lighter weight compact chainset are optional at 170 or 240 euros respectively. Other possible systems: 24 speed SRAM Dual Drive II hub € 185, 14 speed Rohloff hub € 1190.
The Mango is not only designed for sport or recreational use, first of all has a practical use, move yourself!
Because a human being has a very limited muscle power, we need a vehicle that uses this power very efficiently. A fast
bike gives you a bigger range. On flat land air resistance is the most important opposing force you have to overcome.
So aerodynamics are very important. But other factors are also important in daily use, like weather protection, comfort,
maintenance and reliability, luggage space, safety etc.
